Everyone feels or copes with pain differently, but no one likes living with it in any form. For this reason, researchers have worked for years to find ways to control or alleviate pain with a wide range of treatment options.
Physical therapy is often recommended to help manage or relieve neck pain. For example, traction often helps compressed vertebrae, a neck brace stabilizes whiplash and promotes healing, and massage relaxes a contracted neck muscle. With time, physical therapy can often bring about a gradual improvement and well-being in patients with neck problems.
But in most cases, pain is fought using medical therapy. Today a wide variety of painkillers and anti-inflammatory medications are available. They offer a variety of properties, such as the ability work quickly or for extended periods, or allow prolonged use without harmful side effects. Among the better known medications to help fight neck pain is acetylsalicylic acid (ASA). Commonly known as aspirin, it is used to treat mild to moderate acute pain and can be found in various forms (coated, caplets, etc.) adapted to help treat neck pain.
