Menstrual discomfort is extremely common, and in most cases discomfort is moderate. It can be treated with correct diet, adequate rest and anti-inflammatory medications.

The two most common disorders associated with menstruation are premenstrual syndrome (PMS, the period before the onset of menstruation) and dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps).
