Causes

Cervical Arthritis is mainly due to injuries or trauma suffered by the neck. Sports and work are the major culprits. Often, the cause can be traced back to an injury suffered years before. The first symptoms may surface years later, triggered by another injury or by the natural occurring degeneration of the intervertebral discs.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis share many symptoms with Cervical Arthritis and can also be a factor leading to Cervical Arthritis.
